A Birthday Weekend

Barbara on Aug 30th 2010

This weekend was all sorts of awesome sauce. It would be impossible to write down everything that happened, mainly because it’s all still a bit fuzzy.

Things I am certain of:

My friends are awesome
Tequila is an asshole
I owe Aja a new ice bucket (and possibly a mop)
My boyfriend is awesome
Waffle House is not safe for human consumption
Randy Couture is a bad ass
My mom cannot decorate a cake to save her life
The Rays and Yankees are fighting for first place

Friday: The Angie/Barbara Super Awesome Birthday Extravaganza took place. I’d like to go into detail, but I don’t remember much of what happened. One minute, I was rockstar and the next minute I was head first in an ice bucket having flashbacks of my 21st birthday. I’ll just let the pictures do the talking.

Saturday: Spent most of the day relaxing around the house. At night we headed to Beef O’ Brady’s to meet up with my sister and watch the UFC fights.

Sunday: Spent the afternoon at my parents house, where my Mom made lunch and decorated a cake worse than a 3rd grader. God love my Mom, but she is the worst cake decorator I’ve ever seen. I wish I brought my camera.

That night we headed to the Trop, where we met Dave’s parents to watch the Rays and Red Sox game. Dave’s Mom works for Tropicana and hooked us up with box seats. Dave’s parents are so nice and fun and we all had a great time at the game!

This weekend was packed and for once I’m happy that it’s Monday and I’m back to my normal schedule. Sometimes, I just need a few days to relax, but I’m sure by Wednesday I’m going to be itching for that 3 day weekend!

Hope everyone has a great week!

To the extreme, I rock the mic like a vandal

I think it’s safe to say that if you were a 90′s kid, you can remember the song “Ice Ice Baby”. We all rocked the parachute pants and hideous neon colored clothing. Some of us even shaved designs in the side of our heads…

When I found out that Vanilla Ice was going to be playing after last nights Rays game, I’ll admit I got a little excited. I told Dave and he went online and bought tickets for me, him and our friend Bob.

The game was fun, even though we lost. After the game, the staff quickly set up the stage for the concert. The ushers let anyone who wanted to go on the field. It’s neat being on the field. You don’t realize how big the stadium is until you look up in the stands from that point of view.

The concert was…pretty hilarious. There was a smoke machine, a drummer named Clint Eastwood (for real yo) inflatable Halloween decorations and clown dressed in a Santa Claus costume that kept spraying the crowd with bottles of water. Vanilla played his 2 hits (Ninja Rap and Ice Ice Baby) and some other stuff that was pretty terrible. The crowd got into it though and after a few minutes, everyone was kickin’ it old school.

He sure looks a lot different than he did in the 90′s, right?
