I spent a good portion of the night cleaning the house in anticipation for Neil and Sara’s arrival on Saturday. I’m so excited!! I haven’t seen them in over a year and I just can’t wait to get together and start telling “your mom” jokes again. Cause that’s what we do. Shut up.

Did I ever mention how I came up with the name uptopdesigns? You can thank Neil for that. Instead of saying high five (cause that’s sooooo last year) we say “up top”. And we say it really loudly with tons of over enthusiasm. My friend Gopal actually does it the best. So yeah, the up top and the fact that I’m a designer, it kind of just fit.

Anyway, what was I saying. Oh yeah….house cleaning. We decided to have Dave’s friend repaint the house, so shit has been everywhere for the past few days to accommodate. We got stuff organized and fairly clean downstairs. Upstairs is another story. I’ll tackle that tomorrow. Maybe.

Tomorrow is going to be so long. I can’t wait for them to get here!

As you can see, the look of this website has changed a lot. I had the idea for this theme a few months after I started this site, but it obviously was set aside for awhile. I originally wanted to have this up before the new year, but the holiday season seemed to rush in and out faster than a speeding bullet and before I knew it, I was looking at 2010. Six days late isn’t too bad though.

I designed this theme to live and breathe as I grow and the site grows. There’s still plenty of things I want to add and tweak, and normally I wouldn’t change something so drastic until I felt like it was more finished, but in the process of working on this theme, I somehow managed to royally screw up the previous theme that I was using. So I figured it would be more productive to get this one functional then to work on fixing a theme I wasn’t going to be using much longer.

I plan on putting more time and effort into this website because I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far, so I expect I will be adding a lot in the future. As of now though, this is one thing I can cross off my goal list for 2010.
