My name is Barbara. I live in a suburb just outside of Tampa, Florida with my boyfriend Dave and a miniature schnauzer named Dali.
In 2008, I graduated from The Art Institute of Tampa with a degree in Web Design and Interactive Media. I’m pretty convinced that I didn’t learn anything at The Art Institute that I couldn’t have learned by reading free online tutorials and now I’m out $25k in student loans. I had a graphic design job six months before graduating and I’m still waiting to find out if my degree will ever do me any good. I guess what I’m trying to say is, if you plan on continuing your education, make sure you really look into the school you choose and never choose one that teetering on losing accreditation.
Before becoming a graphic designer, I was a photographer at a portrait studio for 5 years. This job made me realize my love for children and hatred for most parents. I gained a great amount of patience when it came to idiots.
I grew up in a small town in South Jersey. Pretty much everything you’ve probably heard about New Jersey is true. My Dad was a mechanic for 30 something years and owned 2 gas/service stations. We moved to Florida after I graduated high school.
I started this website in April of 2009 to make an effort to chronicle those aspects of life that I tend to forget about after a few months. I want to be able to look back on these times and laugh, cry, and reflect on the past. I want my family and friends to realize how much a part of my life they are.
