Taking Forever

I have you ever had one of those days where things just took forever? Like simple things that should only take a few minutes end up taking an eternity? That was my day today.

I had to go to the post office to mail 95 pez dispensers to a chick in Thailand. I’ll go into more detail on why I was doing this later. I generally hate going to the post office by my house because it’s usually pretty busy and a lot of the time the people working there seem oblivious to the fact you’re standing in line waiting. This day was actually an exception. The mail ladies were working quickly and I got to the front of line fast. But then the lady reminds me I have to fill out a customs form to ship something overseas. So I had to get out of line, fill that out, and get back into the line that got ridiculously long in the 3 minutes it took me to fill out the half page form. I waited for like 15 minutes in line because I was an idiot and didn’t fill out the form BEFORE going to the post office.

I was doing this on my lunch break and by the time I got out of the post office my break was almost over and I hadn’t eaten yet. So I figured I just run to Publix real quick and get a sandwich. Usually there’s plenty of people working in the deli, but today there was only ONE person doing everything. I felt bad for the girl because she had a decent sized line and had no one to help her. I’ve been in those situations before and they suck. I was patient and polite to her. Never fuck with people that handle your food; haven’t you seen the movie Waiting? That really DOES happen. TRUST ME. I was getting impatient, but was still nice for fear the lady might spit in my food. If I don’t eat, I get grumpy and I was still annoyed at myself with the whole post office incident.

I get my sandwich and head back to work. My lunch break is over so I just eat my sandwich at my desk while I’m working. My boss tells me that I need to remove something off of one our clients site’s. Something that should have taken only ONE MINUTE TOPS, but something happened to the database of this site when we switched servers or something and I couldn’t open the file properly. GAH! What was going on today???

Looking back on it now, everything that happened is pretty comical, but at the time it was FRUSTRATING! I hate days when nothing goes the way you want it to. Hopefully tomorrow will be much smoother.

So about those Pez dispensers for sale. Yeah, I’m selling more than just that. I’m officially moving in with Dave…probably around the first of the year. It makes sense, considering I’m pretty much here all the time anyway. My sister wasn’t too happy at first, but she’s fine with it now. Since I’m moving, I need to get rid of a ton of things I don’t need anymore. Anyone need some furniture?

I’m moving sometime soon! Depends on the type of furniture. I hate days that seem to take forever. I guess the best way to get over the frustrations of a bad day is to relax when you get home.
