Paper Denim

So…something pretty epic happened this morning. My alarm went off at 7:30, like usual. I hit snooze, like usual, and after it went off again, I got up and dragged myself to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face.

I’m usually pretty zombie-like in the morning. With this new short haircut, I pretty much look like one in the morning, too. Serious bead head. But anyway… It takes me a few minutes to wake up and get the blood pumping. Still half asleep, I picked out some clothes to wear to work-my usual attire of jeans and a t-shirt. (There’s no dress code at work; another reason why it’s awesome.) I was only half paying attention when I got dressed and threw on my jeans and t-shirt and headed back to the bathroom to fix the mess on my head. WAIT. I looked down at the jeans I put on. WAIT. THESE WERE NOT THE JEANS THAT I THOUGHT I PUT ON.

Another thing about me…if I find something I like I stick with it, especially when it comes to clothes. Like 3 or 4 years ago, I bought a pair of Paper Denim & Cloth jeans off ebay and I fell in love with them. They fit perfectly and were soft and comfortable and just everything I wanted out of a pair of jeans. So I continued to buy these jeans and now have like 3 pairs. Out of those 3 pairs I have one pair that still fit me well. At the time I bought them, they only had a size bigger than me in stock, but I wanted them so bad that I bought them anyway and just wore a belt. That was until I gained weight and didn’t need a belt anymore. They’re completely faded and starting to rip, but I won’t get rid of them because they’re just THAT COMFORTABLE. The other 2 pairs have been sitting in my closet for months, just waiting for my fat ass to slim down so I can get back into them. I’d been rocking the one pair for months now. That was, UNTIL THIS MORNING WHEN MY FAT ASS SLIMMED DOWN ENOUGH TO GET INTO THEM.

I thought had thought I picked out the usual pair that I’ve been wearing and threw them on without thinking about it. But they were the OTHER PAIR. The pair that last month I was too fat to fit into.

HOLY AWESOME.

They don’t fit perfectly yet. They’re still a bit tighter than I would prefer, but last month I couldn’t even think about buttoning them. So that means I’m making progress. Progress is awesome.
